Termite
Termites have been around since the time of Dinosaurs! Termite colonies eat nonstop 24 hours a day, seven day a week. Termites have wings that they shed once. They have found a good place to build a nest. Termites are social insect and raise their young as group. They live in large communities in above ground earthen mound called Termitarium or in subterranean galleries. These are four types of termites.

(iv)             Subterranean Termites

(A)    Productive

(B)    Sterile

      How Do They Harm :

Termite cause up to $ 5 billion damage per year. Termites are polyphagia eat all the things except glass. Termites eat articles which has cellulose. Dry wood termite can build nests and dig tunnels in buildings. These tunnels cause major damage to the buildings. Subterranean termites are the most destructive kind of termite. They can eat a lot of wood and they can cause a lot of expansive damage to a house. They can destroy building foundations, wooden support beam, plastic plumbing pipes etc. Termites can also injure or destroy leaving trees and shrubs. Termite are also known to damage non cellulosic substance in their search for food rubber, leather, plastic, neoprene as well as lead coating used for covering of underground cables are damaged by termites.

 

Cockroaches

Cockroaches are insects of the order Blataria or Blattodea. Cockroaches are most common in tropical and subtropical climates. Some species are in close association with human dwellings and widely found around garbage or in the kitchen. About four species are well known…

4.      Oriental Cockroach

Cockroaches are mainly nocturnal and will run away when exposed to light. Cockroaches can live almost a month without food.

How Do They Harm :

They feed on human and pet food and can leave an offensive odor. Cockroaches especially species that come in contact with feces like German Cockroaches may transmit bacteria responsible for food poisoning. Cockroaches act as mechanical vector in transmiting the bacteria that cause diarrheal deaseses. Most home owners are  aware to the health and safty risks associated with cockroaches infaction including the allergies and asthama triggered by cockroaches allergens and the germs and bacteria they have been known to spread.

Rodent

Rodent word derived from latin word “Rodere”. Rodere means to “gnaw”. Rats are the most cleverest pests. They are suspicious, colour-blind, give reaction to new objects called neophobia. They can survive without water for many days and without food up to a week. They can travel inside the pipe fot 10 c.m. diameter. High jump of rat is 73-75 c.m. A rat climb on smoth wall at the corners upto 30-35c.m.

Nature of Damage :

Brown rat the black rat and the house mouse are serious pests eating and spoiling food stored by humans and spreading the deaseses. Adult rats gnawbags of grains, eat on any food stuff (Cereal and pulses in godown also eat paper, damage clothing, furniture etc. rodents are also significants vector of dieses. The black rat with the fleas that it carries playa a primery role in spreading the bacterium (Yersinia Pestis) responsible for bubonic plague.

Wood Borer

The term powder post beetles applies to the members of the family Lyctidae.

These insects are so named because of the powder like dust, the fine dust resembling face powder that is produced as result of their working in wood. Wood boring beetles most often attack dying or dead trees. The term wood boreing bettles encompasses many species and famielies of beatles whose larva or about form eat & destroy wood. Larva stages of some are sometimes reffered to as wood warm in the wood working industry. Wood boring beetles are commenly detected a full year new constructions.

How They Harm :

Powder falling from wooden furniture is a sure sign of wood borer infestation. They likely in area with high humidity and attack only living wood such as poorly ventilated crawl spaces.

Fly

House Fly is the common fly often found in houses. The latin name for the housefly is Musca Domestica. This species is always found near human. It is the most common species found on hog and poultry farms, hourse stale and ranches. Not are not only house fly a nuisance, but they also carry disease causing organisms. flies are not only an irritant to farm workers but may be a public health concern each female fly can lay about 9000 eggs in his life.

How Do they Harm

Flies are lay eggs on or near meat often dead animals. They live and feed on dead and decaying organic material such as garbage, carrion or faeces. Because of their large intake of food, they deposit face constantly, one of the factors that make the insects a dengerous carrier of the pathogens. they are capable of  carrying over 100 pathogens such as those causing typhoid, cholera, salmonellosis, tuberculosis, anthrax, parasitic worms.

Mosquitoes

A mosquito is a type of fly. It is the common name of a family of flies in the order Dipteria. The females are ectoparasite they land on warm blooded animals, pierce up capillary an inject saliva to stop the blood coagulating process than suck up and eat blood. Breeding source of mosquitos are drainage, filling area sewage plantation area, incidental containers, crockery, pots, broken bottles etc.

How Do They Harm

Mosquitoes are bloodsucking species vectors or transmitters of infactious diseases some of them transmit extremely harmfull to human and livestock disease, such as malaria, dengue, yellow fever, chickungunya etc.
